IT Project Manager (Remote)

We’re looking for a seasoned and agile IT Project Manager to help own and drive critical ventures within our IT group.

As a Project Manager, you will develop in-depth knowledge and create the central mechanisms of visibility and accountability required to deliver IT Projects.

You will work with a wide variety of stakeholders, and our ideal candidate is adept at managing and adapting to diverse knowledge levels, communication, and involvement in a project. You will use a variety of traditional and new tools, including project planning tools, wikis and blogs, email, spreadsheets, and meetings.

Our ideal candidate is based near our headquarters in Reston, VA. We are also considering candidates in Orlando, FL and those based remotely.

Where You’ll Focus

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify, summarize, and capture the Project scope, objectives, deliverables and timeline
  • Hands-on manage the project through Scrum, Kanban, or similar framework
  • Help manage risks, dependencies, escalate and track impediments across workstreams
  • Lead intent alignment conversations with tech and product teams
  • Coordinate internal resources, stakeholders, and dependencies for the flawless delivery of a sophisticated set of products to market
  • Lead the decomposition of program and portfolio level complex business problems
  • Facilitates trade-off discussions amid conflicting priorities
  • Integrates Agile and Lean principles into program management practices and work products
  • Helps to establish governance structure where decision-making is weighted toward empowered teams
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation and dashboards
  • Ensure that all products are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Coordinate project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan to track progress
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Provide regular and open communication across the program and stakeholders for transparency and awareness of progress and impediments

Where You Excel

  • A savant with agile frameworks and tech delivery
  • Comfort with complex facilitation and dependency management techniques (cross team, cross department)
  • Ability to work independently to drive process improvements
  • Strong understanding of product development and the value of strategic alignment for a product suite
  • A technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in software development and web technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Mature organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong presentation skills, comfortable presenting to senior leadership
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity, change, and shifting priorities

Education & Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred and at least 5 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 2 years of Agile experience utilizing Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe methodologies
  • Strong experience working with development teams
  • Strong attention to detail, combined with the ability to see and explain the big picture
  • PMP or similar certification
